| From: Bill - W4ZV - Mar 16, 2006 Great job on 160 as always by this group! QSB in and out of the noise floor made it very difficult but Dietmar DL3DXX is always very patient and persistent. He knows when to be on the band and how to operate under very difficult conditions. I do not believe there is a better 160 operator anywhere under such conditions! You can also be sure that he will sort out the guys attempting to make imaginary QSOs. "A few tried a "blind QSO" but we don't accept such games. " Congratulations on a job well done, especially to Europe on 160! 73, Bill W4ZV From: les - SP3DOI - Mar 12, 2006 Hallo, I just come back from FS/PJ7 trip. From: Lanny - W1OO - Mar 10, 2006 Many thanks to all for trying so hard with the poor condx on 160 meters. From: finn - OZ4VV - Mar 10, 2006 Hello to you all at Vanuatu. After hearing you guys several times on 30m without any luck in getting a qso, i just wanted to let you know that the qrg between 10107-10114 is pretty useless up here in the N-EU, due to some heavy qrm (S9) from some kind of comercial Transmitter. I wish your Dxpedition the best of luck and hope to work you before it is too late. Best 73 from N-Denmark at Minus 5 deg. and still snow on the ground. From: Kirk - JF3MYU - Mar 8, 2006 Thank you again for more QSOs (so far on three bands). You wrote that you are not operating during the daytime. I trust into my LB fittings ( Beverage 480m long your direction + another in phase what else more one could use ) and no chance al all. Viel Spass noch und kommt gesund wieder heim! vy 73 Wolfram DK8NX From: Jose - CT1EEB - Mar 2, 2006 Excellent operating practices and good signal, you guys are really an example to be followed. This morning you were 599+ in 30m. RTTY and I hope you can work some 40m. CW at around 07:00 UTC as well (long-path should be good). At 17:00UTC 7 Mhz are always too noisy and signals weaker, by the way the frequencies you have been using 7001 and 7024.5 have a continous carrier of S9 making reception very hard, maybe you could consider gettin a bit up to 7026.5 or so. Keep up the good operation and thank you ever so much, 73 Jose CT1EEB From: Tur - YL2SM - Mar 2, 2006 I heard you on 1823,5 today at 16.00 GMT with not strong but readable signal. Seems the best opening so far was on 27th feb., when reports from UA3/4 were up to S7 and you moved to 80m just b4 our greyline. TKS for ur effort and GL 73\'s Miro From: Bernd Szameit - DL9YAJ - Mar 2, 2006 Hallo Leute, vorab Danke für die tolle DXped. Meine Beobachtungen derzeit. From: Joe - DK5WL - http://www.160m.de - Mar 2, 2006 With your excellent operating technique I just needed a few minutes calling on 80m to get into the log despite my small antenna set up (18m long dx-wire inv L with 16 radials)- Many thanks for a new one on 80m! 40m seems to be much more difficult, best signal between 1600z and 1630z, but still weak on my vertical, many many station calling, still no QSO here... I listened on 21280 this morning for 1 hour, no signal at all. It looks like that propagation ended somewhere in the middle of Germany (similar situation with 3Y0X on 12m, but here I was in the preferred part of Germany, hi). But we still have a few days to go! Enjoy the pile-ups 73 Joe DK5WL From: Vesko - LZ2JE - Mar 2, 2006 Hello friends, I want to thank you for my (first for now) QSOs with your DXpedition, 20mRTTY and 80m CW - New counries at all.... 15:45UTC every day your sigs coming and going up to 16:00 when is the peack for my area(15:59 I wkd you 3,505 CWFeb.27).Hope to arange an antenna for 160m to add your call to my Top Band collection. And others band as well,... - Mar 2, 2006 Hi Mar & company. Yesterday I tried to copy you on 160m but no signal from your side. Sometimes I heard some beeps but not for real QSO. I use 240m bevs direct to YJ an still awaiting for better openings. Condx are too bad on 160m. On 80m you produce horrible signal S7-9 amazing. The best window for Central EU is between 16:30-18:30. Now if you have simultaneous 80&160 should be better for some openings. I noticed that you change your TX freq. It is good idea when nobody calling you, cause you have stable good signal here on 80m and probably your freq is QRM. Good Luck and CU on TOP. Lubo From: Joachim - DL9MS - Mar 2, 2006 Besten Dank für die 80/40m Verbindung..hoffe am Freitag für 30m...sorry nil 160m Prima Exp. 73 9ms From: Jan - PA4JJ - http://members.home.nl.pajj - Mar 2, 2006 I whish I was at your qth right now. But very interesting to listen on 160 to the top big guns making blind QSOs :-) We will try again for the very short time, Dietmar. 73 to all of you From: Uwe Grünberg - DL9GOA - Mar 2, 2006 Hallo Dietmar & Crew! 73! Uwe. From: Nodir - EY8MM - http://www.qsl.net/ey8mm - Mar 2, 2006 Excellent operation! Worked 2 new bands-40 and 80! Now looking for 17 meters! From: Chuck - NI0C - Mar 2, 2006 Many thanks for the new one on 80m. My QSO was only a few minutes after your operation began, and I was lucky enough to be there. Thanks also to the fine operator who stayed with me to get my callsign right, even as others were calling over me. -73- From: Kazu Okamoto - JA8ISU - Mar 2, 2006 Many thanks for the QSO on top band.I hope to make you have lot of QSO EU & W on low band. Have a nice day and good DX'ing. From: Henry - IZ5CML - Mar 2, 2006 Nice expedition and nice signal in a very bad period of propagation. Pse, if you can, try more on 15m-17m for Eu, anyway nice job ! Thanks and good luck !!!! From: Fernando Fernandez - EA8AK - Mar 2, 2006 In spite of very poor condx, this morning you a gud sig on 30 mt RTTY. I will try on 80 and 160 mt, but at your sunrise via SP it's no easy because of the european wall, so let me try via long path, we should have a narrow window btwn 0630-0730 gmt. KCYF. Congrats for Dietmar and foreverybody From: Mark - ON4WW - Mar 2, 2006 Excellent operation. There seems to be a peak on 80m around 1730-1745z, which is just after our sunset. OH2BU observed the same phenomenon on 160m. Hopefully you can get the second 80m antenna up, and activate 80/160 simultaneously. Pse reconsider your intention to fool 'blind-callers'. If you'll start shifting your RX- frequency, just to see if we can follow you around and hear you, that makes no sense (deep qsb and extremely weak signals!) and precious time will be lost. Stay put, please ! We initially depend on DXCluster spots to know if you're there, and then we can start listening and hoping for an opening. If we get an opening, it will be very short. Three days ago we heard u for 10 seconds around 1808z, then the opening was gone. Again, PLEASE do not change your announced RX-frequency, it is hard enough as it is. Also, 'blind callers', are sometimes stations who briefly copy you, before you disappear in deep qsb. You can't blame them for calling you. Of course, I agree, you will always find the 'professional blind callers' on your path... Thanks for a great effort, our hopes are set on you guys !! Tnx Ben for the website ! 73 - Mark. From: Wolf - DK8MZ - Mar 2, 2006 Congrats, you were the only SSB signal on 15m this morning in central Europe! From: Rich - DK8YY - Mar 2, 2006 hello .. last night (1.3.) a good signal on 80m .. but no copy on 160 .. we will try again this evening and also on friday .. maybe we will get a chance .. best greetings from Ilmenau .. Rich -dk8yy- From: Jari - OH2BU - Mar 2, 2006 Yesterday you were quite loud on 1823,5 kHz, between 15:20 to 15:45 UTC. Heard the QSO with UT3MD and calling CQ many times. Quite a few OH calling. The signal had a long QSB, from a 229 to a real 559. Loudest signal so far on 160 m, much much stronger than the signal at YJ SR. The QSY to 80m was just at our SS 15:45 UTC, when the signal was still a 559 here. The wish is, of course, that you could try the 160 m on afternoons around that time, 15:30 to 16.00 UTC. Tnx! From: Steve - HA0DU - Mar 2, 2006 Congratulations on your 80 m signal! 579-599 most of the time. I keep trying to hear you on 160, have to repair 45 degree Beverage. Can you try 160 between 1610-1630 UTC? 73 Steve From: Fabio - IZ2ACF - Mar 2, 2006 Thank you a lot for the new one on 20 and 15 mtrs so far, your signal is very good in Eu on these bands in the morning as it is good on 30 mtr in the afternoon. Have a lot of fun, 73's and good luck |
