It has been a long STORY... but after years of efforts and a lot of problems, we finally got the permission and license to operate in Sudan.

On March 20, 2003, we brought Sudan, one of the most needed and top-ranking DXCC entities, on the air with the call sign STØRY (Sierra Tango Zero Radio Yankee). After some 48,000 QSOs, STØRY became hiSTORY on March 31, 2003.
We had three HF stations with amplifiers running, three quarter wave verticals for the lowbands, a few Yagis for 10m to 20m, including the WARC bands plus some wire.
  The experienced crew consisted of

DK7YY Falk, CW
DL3DXX Dietmar, CW
DL5NAM Chris, SSB/RTTY
DL7FER Felix, SSB/CW
DL9NDS Uwe, SSB/RTTY

We have an Online Log Search and DXpedition news available on the News Page.
There were four pilot stations: K6GNX, N5FG, JA3AAW and DF3CB.

West half of North America DrBill, K6GNX
East half of the North America Floyd, N5FG
Japan Yosi, JA3AAW
Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania Bernd, DF3CB
The QSL Manager for STØRY is DL5NAM.
We hope you enjoyed the STORY!

We are asking the ham community for support! Some of the material will be left for the national amateur radio club after the DXpedition. Any help with used or new HF/VHF equipment is very welcome as well as training material for hams to get a license (maybe the operator team is also able to work Sudan on some needed bands after the DXpedition ;-).
We are also asking for support from sponsors, DX clubs worldwide and individuals to be able to cover our high transport costs for the equipment, amplifiers and antennas. We need to use air cargo -- the equipment for this DXpedition does not fit into golf bags.
Every donation helps us. Small or large. If you can help, please contact the DXpedition leader Chris, DL5NAM:
