- Bruce Sawyer - ZF2NT I do believe this was the best conducted DX operation I have heard in many years. While I didn't listen to any of the SSB operations, I did listen extensively to the CW operations and I think the operators there were absolutely superb. It was a pleasure to observe, though I don't know where one finds the reserves of patience needed to deal with all the lids, jammers, policemen, and tuners. |

2003 - Eugene - RA0FF With wonderment has read that: Non EU stations: send a SAE (Self Addressed Envelope) plus 2 US$ or 2 Euro. No other currency! Signifies this, as IRC "other currency" too? I not entrust our postal service and is afraid that USD do not get to Chris (DL5NAM). |

| Apr 7,
2003 - Virgle Griffith - NI4H I have been chasing Dx for 20+ years and this is the best run group that I have had the pleasure to work. The operators on all modes stayed with the qso until the call was complete. I had the pleasure of meeting Floyd (N5FG) via e-mail with a couple of questions. Floyd was very prompt in reply and very professional. This has not always been the case with some prior groups. Thanks again for a job well done. Virgle |

2003 - Jack Sheldon, Jr., CPA - KN7Y Dear Chris, DL5NAM. Much luck here in Arizona with 100 watts resulting it 6 QSO's with ST0RY (12, 15, 17, 20 & 30 CW, and 17 SSB). I could have worked you on 40 CW, but your op QRT'd when your signal was good into Arizona, still I feel very fortunate. Many BIG pileups! Many ops calling without listening. Still, with big pileups it takes time to work you, and that is all part of the fun. Some complain if they don't work you in 5 minutes. One or two of my QSO's took an hour in a pileup! Many in our club worked you from Arizona, and we (USA) THANK YOU! 73, Jack, KN7Y |
| Apr 5,
2003 - Chris - DL5NAM Sorry to N5TOO and W2RTY that we was not QRV as you was QRV. But we have many 9-banders also from USA. Also many positive comments from US stations in our guestbook. We work many US mobile and QRP stations. Dont know how made it wrong ! Maybe you start searching at your side ? We have worked some US stations with indoor dipole or magnetic loops. Maybe you should use also this antennas and forget your acutal one. Hope to meet you on our next dxped; maybe you come with us and work on the other side of the pileup and give as a view how it better works. Maybe we can learn from you. best regards Chris DL5NAM teamleader st0ry |
| Apr 5,
2003 - stan - N5TOO Stop your crying, that's the way it is with euro operator's on dx expeditions. On 95% of their expedition's only the euro's make the contacts, rest of the world is forgotten. Well they may call other's for 5secs. Europeans cry Ducie, when there are hundreds of lopsided dx for europe....... |

2003 - Mack Arp - W5EET To the crew of ST0RY: Thank you for the opportunity you provided. It has been a long time since I remember being as excited as I was when I heard W5 dit-dit-dah 5NN coming back to me after calling you. I only wish I had been able to work you on all bands and all modes, but it was just not meant to be, even though I chased the crew for many days. The bragging rights for just the one contact are, as an American television commercial goes “priceless” I have a real ST0RY to tell my 4 grandsons when they get a little older (and hopefully become amateur radio operators). I would like to compliment you on your web site – it is the best I have seen for a DXpedition. I felt as though I had visited the Country after reading the site in its entirety. The statistics were a really nice touch to the ST0RY. Your site should become the mandatory standard to follow for future DXpeditions. Thanks again and good luck, good DXing, good contesting and hopefully another DXpedition to somewhere new. 73 MACK ARP W5EET |

2003 - Wolf-E. Gruening - DL6JZ - www.qsl.net/dl6jz/ Many thanks for this ufb operation. That were my first QSO's with ST in more than 30 years of ham activity. Special thanks for the RTTY-QSO. Sorry that I couldn't get you on 15 m. But it was o.k. that if there were props that you worked W's only. So I had to wait a lot of time for QSO's on 80 m and 30 m. BUT again: this is o.k.! You will get a small donation with my QSL-request. 73 + 55, Wolf/DL6JZ |

2003 - Pekka - OH2NAG Hello, Great operation and excellent operators. Confirmed the qso to little pistols like me also completely and the web access for online log checking is super idea. Hope the crew comes safely home after the pedition and hope to hear them as good as this operation many more times again. This is real ham spirit and enjoy working good operation. Not very many jammmers qrming the freqencies, fortunately. Propagation was good for this time for operation and signals were loud hope also on the rest of world. Keep it up boys, 73 Pekka OH2NAG. |

2003 - Garry Shapiro - NI6T I signed in early in the operation, to praise the skill of the CW operators. My feelings about that are unchanged, but I must admit to some frustration and disappointment with how the team handled the West Coast. The path to W6/W7 is polar and over 9000 miles, and sigs both ways were dramatically weaker in most cases than were sigs reported by East Coast and midwest stations. Forget 160--80 was unavailable to most, as was 10. We had hoped for---and the team had promised--West Coast awareness. IMHO, this rarely happened. Also, the one long RTTY session to NA, early in the operation, was never repeated, despite promises to our West Coast pilot. Zone 34 on RTTY---how often does THAT happen? For me, with 39 zones on RTTY, not very often! Indeed, there were RTTY postings from Europe and JA in the last days. Finally, while the WPX Contest operation may have put 9000 Q's in the ST0RY log, the contest environment made it even more difficult to obtain Q's from here. I was luckier than most---I put in a lot of time on the bands and managed six Q's on 5 bands---but I must confess to having had higher hopes and expectations, given the quality of the team. Guys---there is more to the planet than Europe, JA and the East Coast. |

2003 - Rich Beisigl - N6NKJ I want to apologize for the bad behavior of a few bad american amateurs the other day on 20 meters. Their action, caused many of us the chance to work the Sudan. And I do not blame the operators in the Sudan, from staying away from the voice part of the 20 meter band. In my almost 20 years as an amateur, I have never heard so many immature adults behaving like children; in fact, if their own kids had acted as they did, they woukd have punished them in some fashion. Thanks to them, many of us will not now have the chance to work the Sudan. Rich Beisigl, n6nkj |

2003 - T. KUWAYAMA - JS6GIM Dear OM, Thanks for ST0RY's on line log serch. But ...... This is JS6GIM. I'd like to correct the log data of ST0RY. I can not find my QSO data on ST0RY's on line log. But I found JH6GIM's log data. It is avairable to find the Japan's callsign on the official Web site by Goverment. JH6GIM is invalid callsign. The morse code of S is very similar to H. The code of S is consit of 3 dot, the code of H is 3 dot. JH is very popular prefix, but JS is not popular one, so that, many operators take my callsign as JH6GIM. Usually I correct my callsign to JSSSSSSSS, JS6GIM. Hi I can write my QSO data to the log manager. So would you please tell me how to contact to the manager, I will be very appriciate you. Thanks for the QSO. 73 |

2003 - Manfred - DK1BT Hallo Leute ! Manfred ! |
