Ben (DL6RAI), Rudolf (DJ3WE), and Falk (DK7YY) 5 hours after the contest in bright sunshine on the top of the building with the Himalaya mountains in the far background.

In the heat of the contest: Ben, DL6RAI, manning station A, some 36 hours into the contest and still seeing it as life entertainment

In the heat of the contest: Falk, DK7YY, operating station B, after a grueling night at the low bands and absolutely determined to make the QSOs no matter what.

A school class enjoying the fine weather on the top of the school adjacent to our factory building Each day the visibility improves. From our shack we now can even see the Himalayan mountains sticking their summits out of the clouds behind the range of mountains surrounding the Kathmandu valley.
Ben, DL6RAI, on his rented bike from local production. There is no light, but the bell can be heard loud and clear.

The evenings are getting colder by the day. The local shop owners light small fires from rubbish to get some warmth. Many things are different from what they are back home: The local beer is excellent, yet they put it in 650 ml bottels and it is pretty strong stuff.

What a contrast: The soldier in front of his sand bags and the holy cow strolling along the street and seemingly looking a bit amused at the soldier. We had our first technical problem. For some reason or other we burnt the lower insulator of the vertical (40m to 10m), but fortunately we could quickly come up with a work around.
That's the old part of Kathmandu, called Thamel. Packed with people, shops, restaurants and some tourists...

Busy life in the narrow streets of Thamel Surprisingly no ice seems to be needed for this fish retailer

In the middle of all the action there are always places of worship ... and, of course, the Gods welcome some food Open air barber(shop): Just fancy to kneel like that for a while...
