It
is difficult to escape from the street dealers. Falk is still up on the
learning curve. |

In
front of the emporers palace in Bhaktapur. Note the big bell on the left
and the small bell on the right: Whenever the king had some good news to
communicate to his people, he used the big bell to announce the news. If
the news were not so good he used the more modestly sized bell on the right
hand side. Things havn't really changed all that much over the centuries. |
Rents
are not really expensive in Kathmandu; however the overhead cost become
even lower if the hairdressing is done outside right next to a very busy
street |

Cremation |
Along
the holy river in Pasupati there are several cremation places in front of
a Hindu temple, some are reserved for the royal family. |

In
Bouddhanath we visited the biggest "Stupa" of Nepal. As always
there are souvenir shops right next to the holy place of the Buddists, mostly
run by Tibetian refugees, resp. their decendents. Here, Rudolf, DJ3WE, leaves
one of the shops. He does not really fit into this architecture. |
